J.Wilkie
1767
The London Chronicle ,Saturday April 4, to Tuesday April 7 1767. Pp8 disbound. The front page is rubbed in one place resulting in a couple of tiny holes with some small loss. This issue of the paper has an excellent account in perhaps nine column inches of "The Principles of Mr.Harrison's Time-Keeper". "In this Time keeper there is the greatest care taken to avoid friction as much as can be, by the wheels moving on small pivots, and in ruby-holes, and high numbers in the wheels and pinions." The account continues with a careful description of the workings of the timepiece .There are many other interesting pieces, including a good advert for on Wisbech Races, others for quack cures, threatened insurrection in Hereford etc etc.
