NEWSPAPER
THE REHEARSAL Of Observator &c
Printed and Sold By the Booksellers of London and Westminster
1705
The Rehearsal of Observator &c. From Saturday June 23
to Saturday June 30th 1705. This broadsheet newspaper
was written by Charles Leslie , and is in the form of
a conversation between "Countryman" and "Observator"
(the latter a title written by JohnTutchin). News is
not so much reported as discussed in a dialogue,
often with pointed attacks on other newspaper authors
for their versions of current stories. This is a rare
title, as The Rehearsal of Observator &c changed its
name to The Rehearsal after a few dozen issues- very
few of which are outside library collections. The
paper is in Very Good plus condition, fine apart from
a small hole (burn ?) and some light foxing.
