John Underwood - Rare and Antiquarian Books and Manuscripts

This is a really excellent Manuscript Album with many well known and identified contributors, and high quality images throughout. The binding is in red pebble grained leather, panelled and gilt, professionally rebacked in red morocco gilt, the spine in six compartments, raised bands and panels gilt, with gilt lettering "Victorian Sketches". All edges brightly gilt. The binding is firm externally and internally, with replacement endpapers. An inscription on the first leaf reads "Maria Hutton from Her Brother George Christmas 1872".
