revised and enlarged by Bartholin's son Caspar.
Original paper covered boards, with hand blocked
paper on spine in red and green floral pattern. The
book is in Very Good condition -one gathering has
some browning.
A very curious work with marvellous de Hooghe
illustrated frontis and other familiar plates
including a curious narwhal, a rhinocerous (after
Durer?). Bartholin was a Danish physician,
naturalist,physiologist and anatomist.
