is in Very Good condition. The end papers are foxed
lightly and there are light stains to the text block
edges- nothing serious .The light purple boards are
lightly faded to edges. There are no inscriptions and
the dustwrapper is not clipped .There are some chips
and creases to the top edges and corners of the
wrapper and a closed tear on the spine.This is
described as "a malign, powerful tale of innocents
confronted with manipulators, of ordinary lives caught
up and entangled in other men's designs" , a theme
which occurs often in Bowles work.A classic.
