Pp3 in facsimile (frontispiece explain'd, dedication and Amiot to the readers). Bound in full calf,rebacked with maroon title piece, spine in six compartments.Some repair, some page corners missing, edge of title page repaired. This work is known as "Shakespeare's Plutarch" or as Warton wrote "Shakespeare's storehouse of learned history", as it was the source work for Shakespeare's history plays. A slightly defective copy but with delightful illustrations to the added lives in the second work.
