This manuscript, bound in a re-used vellum sheet, is
the minute book for the Court Roll of Briston Hall,
Meliors and Chosell in Norfolk UK. Edmund Jewell esq
and his wife Sarah are Lord and Lady of the manor.
Edmund dies between 1784 and November 1785 and later
in the month his wife is named Lady of the Manor. On
17th April 1793 a special Court Baron is held at the
insistence of Mary and Dorothy Todd, spinsters. The
manuscript is written in several hands and covers the
period from 1770 to 1794 . There are 65 pages plus
blanks and there is a probate of will inserted at the
front, dating from 1679. A fascinating document.
