Bound in speckled full leather, with a little loss of
surface patination to corner of rear board, rebacked
professionally and almost invisibly. Spine in six
compartments, tidily ruled in gilt with a smart and
appropriate label. Gold roll to inner edges of boards
with marbled paper endpapers .All edges gilt.
Portrait of Bacon and engraved title page present and
very well struck. Letterpress title page with lightly
penned ownership signature.Internally the book is
very clean- the odd ink mark and a water stain to a
few leaves only. A very pleasing complete copy of the
first edition, second state.Please contact the
