Complete with all plates called for. Fairfax coat of arms to verso of A1, folding plate of Thomas Fairfax on horse back (laid down), with a large folding view of the Battle of Naseby (reinforced to folds, with a small hole to central fold)[this plate copied and re-engraved later and used in Clarendon's History single vol 1732 edition], and a folding table of the actions and movements of the army. Early nineteenth-century polished calf gilt, with gilt decoration and titling to spine. Marbled endpapers and edges. Some wear to head and foot of spine. Some light worming, mainly to gutter margin and professionally repaired-almost invisible.A couple of small holes to fore-edge of a handful of later leaves. Paper flaw to margin of Z2, light marginal damp-staining to final thirteen leaves. Ink inscription of John Borradale with gift inscription dated August 5th 1693 of Mrs Anne Andrelois to Jo Borrodale. Ink note at side of text in one place in contemporary hand. Occasional light marking to text and plates, but overall a very pleasing copy in bright and clean order.
