This paper has long coverage of NAPPER TANDY and his
exploits. There is a long letter from The Burgomaster
of Hamburgh to the Consuls of The French Republic and
the reply from Napoleon Bonaparte. The letter is in
justification of decision of the town to release
Napper Tandy and his companion Blackwell to the
British Government for imprisonment. This had caused a
rift between Hamburgh and the French Republic who had
tried to represent that the two were French officers
and therefore should have been sent to freedom in
France rather than gaol in Britain. There is much
coverage here, about 30 column inches of important detail.
