Watercolour, taken from an album compiled and painted
by R.Foster, circa 1845- 1855. A black character is
juxtaposed with African deer, and a young goat, with
another character in the background, back towards us.
the word WHITE to bottom edge. A series of unconnected
images with some practice lettering perhaps, but a
curious overall effect. Painted on to album paper,
approx 26c.m by 32c.m.. Some soiling and toning,
prints pasted onto reverse.
