Pp 197,[iii] Bound in recent full speckled calf, gilt lined, spine in six gilt ruled compartments, maroon lettering piece to the spine. New endpapers. A little toned throughout with some foxing. Repaired tear to last leaf (advertisement),a small spot on pp62/3 with the loss of a few letters. The prosecution in this trial was undertaken by William Garrow (of recent TV series fame) [1760-1840] Wiki states "a British barrister, politician and judge known for his indirect reform of the advocacy system, which helped usher in the adversarial court system used in most common law nations today. He introduced the phrase "innocent until proven guilty", insisting that defendants' accusers and their evidence be thoroughly tested in court."
