Facsimilies of the First Edition of "The Discoverie
of Guiana" by Raleigh (1596) and the First Edition in
English of "The Discoveries of the World" by Galvao
(1601). Produced by the World Publishing Company ,
Cleveland Ohio, by George Rainbird Ltd,London. The
book 2vols in one, was printed by offset Litho by
Pizzi of Milan, and bound by Olivotto of Venice. The
laid paper was specially made by Cartiera Ventura of
Cernobbio.
The coat of arms on the binding is that of Elizabeth
1st of England. This is a nice production,presented
in a lined clamshell box with Bibliotheca Americana
notes including an Historical Introduction by
A.L.Rowse and Bibliographical notes by Robert
O.Dougan .
