MANUSCRIPT FARMING ACCOUNTS 1844 Victorian accounts ledger, formerly of North Kelsey Farm; The property of Mr William Frear Holgate. Receipts and Payments from April 1844 until May 1866. Bound in vellum covers with marbled page edges and endpapers. Most of the pages have been used- a few blanks at the end .Some soiling to the boards, minor warping, but Very Good in the main. A carefully kept manuscript account book, still in its original vellum binding, and very legible. Entries are for wages with named recipients," 8 Irishmen" ,"2 Women", Poor Rate payments,Thatching, Wheat,Clover and Oats Hoeing , and other expenses " 2 Quarts of Horse Oil", "Railway Bill"," 3 Cows to the Bull". A good evocation of a Victorian Farm, with plenty of opportunity for the researcher.
